It all started with an article in the Washington Post which called for a boycott of the products manufactured by the Big Tobacco Company. The article pointed out the fact that tobacco companies use the profits to fund their tobacco-related research and lobbying and that the same companies who sponsor "health" and "environmental" organizations have been found to be funding research on tobacco's health harms (mainly nicotine). I decided to write this blog and share my experience. I started writing about the dangers of cigarettes and the harm they cause in 2001 when I was an intern at the Tobacco Institute. My blog, which was the first on the internet that I wrote on this subject, was a great success for me. Many people responded to it. I had hundreds of visitors daily. In 2008, I moved my blog to Health Impact News. I started researching health products, researching the studies that were available, reading the books and the websites. I spent many hours of my time looking for the truth. I am still a health consumer. I am just a very busy person. I know that I am not a health expert. I don't want to get caught up in the hype.
